What we collect when you visit awardnote.com or write to us, and what we do with it. Last updated October 29, 2026.
The short version
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
- The site does not set its own cookies.
- If you write to us, we use what you send only to reply and, if you become a client, to deliver the work you asked for.
Information you send us
The contact form on this site does not store anything on our servers. When you press send, it opens a message in your own email program, addressed to [email protected]. If you send it, we receive the details you chose to include, such as your name, firm, email address, the focus of your practice, and your message. The same applies when you email us directly.
We use this information to answer you, to discuss a pilot or subscription, and to deliver and invoice work you order. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for that relationship and for our own records, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Information collected automatically
We use Cloudflare to host and protect this site, and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are read. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to measure visits without cookies or cross-site tracking. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to serve pages and block abuse.
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when you view the site. Google receives technical data such as your IP address as part of that request.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site and our email, including Cloudflare (hosting, security, and analytics), Google (fonts), and our email provider. They process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
What our research uses
AwardNote briefs are built from public records, such as federal award data, Single Audit filings, and Form 990 returns. They describe organizations, not website visitors.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you receive an email from us and would rather not hear from us again, reply and say so, and we will stop.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
